Marcell Jankovics has joined Pannonia Film Studio one year after school. He debuted by directing Gustavus; The Follow-Man, one of the successful TV series Gustavus by Pnnonia Film. In 1973, he created first featured Animation Johnny Corncob.
Working in Pannonia, he produced numerous feature animations and TV series, and also continuously created self promoted shorts. Many of his works are recognized and acclaimed internationally.
He also has created comics, which was translated to German and published, and written professional articles and books on animation and art history.
He has been teaching in the Academy of Applied Arts in Budapest for twenty years.

As one of the leading new generation Hungarian animators in 1970s, he adopted ethical and philosophical questions to modern challenges and realities. He worked alternately with children’s films, television series, feature films and self-promotional short films, which are very diverse in tone.

In the period of generation shift in Pannonia, as one of the leading new generations, he created various films, TV series, and cartoons in various tone.
